Did you know as of September of 2020 in the United States there were 5,133 credit unions and 123.7 million members? Crazy, right? And I'm telling you this for a reason because this week we have International Credit Union Day so I just wanted to jump on here really quick to let you know what this means because I'm sure if you're anything like me before I started working at a credit union five years ago, I had no idea that this day even existed. Every year in October, and this year it's Thursday, October 21st, credit unions celebrate this day and raise awareness about what it means for members around the world to have a credit union for their financial institution. This year's theme is "building financial health for a brighter tomorrow" because credit unions truly work to improve our member's financial well being. The credit union philosophy is "people helping people" and I believe PFCU does that every day from community events and donations to financial education, our team of financial coaches and just our staff as a whole. Everybody is working hard to walk with our members through any and every stage of their lives. And I just want to take a quick second to say thank you for allowing me to be in your car with you, at work with you, in the kitchen while you do the dishes or just wherever you listen to this podcast. It's truly been so much fun to do. And thank you to all of the PFCU members and all of credit union members for allowing us to do what we do every day. We would not be here without you. With that, happy International Credit Union Day, everyone!
