About The Interview Process

We are so excited you have taken the time to learn about the career opportunities at PFCU, and we bet you are thinking what is next?! Your first step in the journey to employment at PFCU is filling out our easy online application. Once you have applied you will receive a thank you email, and this is where our recruitment process begins behind the scenes. Our Talent Acquisition Team, along with our Hiring Managers, will review your information and work to match your work experience, skills, and education with the position requirements. If you are selected to be a fit for the role, you will begin the interview process. The first step is always a quick 15-minute phone interview, from there the process will depend on the position you have applied for. If offered the role you will receive an official offer letter and complete a full Pre- employment Background Check, Credit check, and Drug Screening.

About the Training Process

PFCU prides itself on providing every new team member with a comprehensive training experience that is designed to prepare you for your role. You will begin your training experience with a group of new trainees during Onboarding. This Onboarding experience is completed in person at our Headquarters in Portland, Michigan. You will learn about our culture, our service standards, and the expectations of your role. Once Onboarding is completed, you will be paired with a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to ensure you receive personalized guidance. PFCU promotes ongoing, individualized coaching with your direct supervisor to help you continue growing in your personal and professional life. Additionally, PFCU provides optional, continuous training opportunities to foster your growth and success in your career with PFCU.

It is important to plan for the future! Eligible new employee can join PFCU’s outstanding 401(k) Savings Plan the first of the month following 90 days for employment. PFCU matches eligible employee’s 401(k) contributions dollar for dollar up to 5% of eligible pay. Additionally, PFCU makes an automatic 5% base company contribution to the 401(k) savings plan based on the employee’s eligible pay. The 5% base company contribution has a five-year vesting period and is in addition to the plan’s company match amount. Essentially, by contributing 5% PFCU gives you 10% - meaning employees can save 15% of their salary for retirement!
