Enhanced Security for PFCU Debit and Credit Cards!
We’ve got some cards up our sleeve – EMV Chip Cards! Replacing your current PFCU debit cards and credit cards, Chip Cards provide an additional layer of security with an embedded, encrypted microchip containing dynamic, card-specific data that makes counterfeiting extremely challenging.
EMV MasterCard Platinum Credit Card
PFCU will be replacing your current credit card with our new EMV Chip Card! When you receive your new MasterCard Platinum Credit Card Chip Card, be sure to activate it right away and destroy your old card. Also, be sure to contact any merchants you have automatic payments set up with as you need to update your new card's expiration date with them, since this information changes with your new chip card.
What happens when you make a transaction?
If the merchant is EMV Chip Card compatible, you will insert your card into the point-of-sale terminal and follow the instructions on the terminal. It’s important that you leave your card in the terminal until the transaction is complete, otherwise the transaction will not be processed. When your transaction is complete, be sure to remove your card.
